How do I get my headphones maximum volume to be higher when plugged into my desktop?

I am using Windows 8. When I plug my headphones into my desktop's headphones jack, my headphones at maximum volume play at a decent decibel. However, when I plug my headphones into the headphone jack on my Klipsch speakers, at 1/8 maximum volume on the volume adjuster on my speakers, my headphones are LOUD. How do I get my headphones to play at their maximum level when they are plugged directly into my desktop? Thank you for your time!

I´m guessing that your Headphones have a high impedance and therefore need more power to drive.
And since you are also using speakers I think the most effective way to deal with this is an amplifier (not cheap I know) or a powerful soundcard that can feed your Headphones with the necessary power.

You probably can't without a program of some kind.
The out jacks for sound are meant to be amplified.

I know different operating systems have different volumes.

I just upgraded my laptop from win7 32 to 64bit, and the volume increased markedly.

My other laptop, has louder sound on Linux than it dose on Vista 64
