I'm building my gaming rig and i'm ordering a monitor soon. I'm just wondering which would be better 1ms or 5ms? I understand that 1ms is better but I really want a nice monitor with nice colour (The IPS Monitor) I will be playing various games such as DayZ and stuff as well as a few FPS games. I'm unsure but really want to get the IPS monitor du to the fantastic colour. Please could someone tell me if I will really notice the 4ms difference or not? Thanks

From what I know they are both 60Hz which is ok for me because thats the most the human eye can see so. But if one of these are not 60Hz please tell me. Thanks once again.

120fps is actually the max for human eyes, but I prefer 1ms, better for gaming

Oh right I never knew that. Either way do you think you can actually notice the 4ms difference? It isn't much and I will be getting better quality

I think anything less than 3 isn't noticeable, more than 3ms you might

5ms ips is still very good for gaming and since newer ips panels especially asus, also have minimum input lag very close to the tn panels, i wouldnt worry! if not stricktly for gaming, go with the ips monitor.not only better colors but better viewing angles also!

Thank you so much. I'll go with the IPS monitor because I love bright vibrant colours and will have friends round quiet often. I'm glad that you replied because I was unsure about the response time and stuff. I guess 4ms isn't much and I wont notice it so whatever. btw do you know if this monitor is 60Hz? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VX239H-23-inch-Widescreen-...

yes it is. all IPS are 60hz as far as im concerned, however there are some overclocked ips panels with higher than 60hz.
asus currently has VG248QE at 144hz and ROG SWIFT PG278Q again at 144hz but at 1440p which is about to come.both arent IPS. you are welcome!

Thanks I think I'll stick to the VX239H due to I only turned 15 today and I don't have a job so I'm only limited to a certain amount of money. It will be a decen moniotr I think because 60fps is good because my PC is going to be a tank XD so it'll will always be above that on most games so. As well as the 5ms response time and 1080p resolution which is pretty good so
