I just finished putting together a rig. It is experiencing power failure. I checked all the cables, and they are attached to the right places. Whenever I try to turn it on from the case, the power LED flickers on for a second and then turns off. The power supply fans turns on very quickly and spins quite a bit before dying. The GPU fans spin a little bit and die. The CPU fans twitch, but it never spins. I'm thinking that it's either a CPU or MoBo problem. What do I do to troubleshoot this? I only have 25 days to return the parts.

NOTE: While installing the processor, I found it difficult to push in the lever to close the cover. My fried told me to push it in until it closes, even if it is a tad forceful, because that's just how some MoBo processor cases are. I'm afraid that this damaged it. Would this be a problem?

What exact parts do you have? I've seen before where certain parts with a psu, the pc will start but then immediatly turn off thinking that there is a short (even though there is none)

your parts? Also I would also call your motherboard company and your psu company, usually it is associated with the motherboard and psu that don't work together properly.
