Yes, but considering you're going for a 5th gen i7 you should wait for the GTX800 series to come out for a GPU.

What programs are you planning on using to do the editing? And what monitor are you going to use?

This is how I would build the system. I would also wait on the monitor, Acer will be having a game changer as a True UHD 4K panel with proper processors this holiday season, or your only viable true UHD monitor is still breaking $2K for the starter model.

This is a scalled down verson of what I am building to run multiple monitors 27" and bigger with 1 dedicated to UHD editing. If you are willing to spend a bit more, I can show you a system that will run UHD on multiple monitors at one time, but again money becomes a big factor.

Also what case are you putting this in?

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KX8n99
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KX8n99/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($579.99 @ TigerDirect) <-- This will be more than you will need for editing, going with the other proc is true overkill, if you want to go that route get 2 xeon's

CPU Cooler: Swiftech H220 55.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($100.00 @ NCIX US) <-- One of the best coolers on the market if not one of the best coolers on the market, if looking at dual CPU xeon, i'll tell you the other cooler to get.

Motherboard: Asus X99-DELUXE ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($397.99 @ NCIX US) <-- no need to explain

Memory: Crucial 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($208.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Crucial 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($208.99 @ Newegg) The new Corsair RAM will be coming out in the next few weeks, they worked directly with Asus to build the best DDR4 for all of their boards, and 16gb would be the absolute min I would look at.

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.00 @ Amazon) <-- OS and drivers only, monitoring software is OK

Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($119.00 @ Amazon) <-- Programs only no saved data

Storage: Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB 3.5" 10000RPM Internal Hard Drive ($213.98 @ SuperBiiz) <-- All saved data

Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 X2 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($599.99 @ Amazon) <-- $$ for $$ this is one of the absolute best cards you can get on a performance level. You will be able to do just about anything including animation with Maya, 3DMax, Softimage and All of Adobe

Power Supply: Corsair Professional 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($169.99 @ TigerDirect) This is the lowest I would go in power, preference would be to have a 1000w system.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) ($128.98 @ OutletPC)

Total: $2846.90
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Thanks for the great answer. I would like to have the 8 core because I would like to game at the same time as I am rendering. I did look into the asus mars 760 gpu. I will also be doing a custom loop. And i already have 2 256gb intel 750 series ssd so that is why i did not include ssd. I am building it in a desk.

The funny thing is my budget is 1600 and i am hoping to get all of my parts on black friday. even if i cant i can get an extra 300 by feburary. I am only fourteen and no i am not spoiled. i get 25$ a week by doing stuff for my neighbors.I am also selling a monitor, a portable dvd player and 2 ipod nanos and a few games . i should be able to get, based on ebay prices, 340$. I will give them my earned money and they will use my christmas money and will get the parts. I will then get it for christmas. then i will get the mon. i will get then get the camera by doing extra chores for my parents and neighbors combined with birthday money which is inj may. until then i am going to use my zoom q2hd to record audio and get use a galxy note 4 once it comes out to record in 4k using a tripod mount. (I am On Tmobiles jump program)

But getting back to the computer, you have great advice. I need it to be a hackintosh because my mom bought me a coding tutorial and it turns out you need a mac. but i will get windows also through parallels because i like the look of mac osx. thx again for teh great advice.
