I connected my new Monoprice 27" IPS 1440p monitor with included DVI-D cable to my HD6870 DVI-D port and was not able to set 2560x1440 resolution. Then I connected it to DVI-I on GPU and it supported 1440p.
Shouldn't it work on DVI-D too or must it be connected to DVI-I? Because I plan to connect my old monitor that has VGA to DVI-I and needs that port on GPU.
