Should I get another gtx 770 or wait?

My build:
CPU- i7 4790k
Gpu- gtx 770 4gb with acx
Motherboard- vii hero
CPU cooler- be quit dark rock pro 3
PSU- evga p2 1000w (birthday gift!)
Case- cm storm trooper
Storage- 1tb caviar blue and a seagate 500gb

I would like to buy another gtx 770 and have my first sli set-up. My question is should I wait for the 800 series our buy another 770 now. i am gaming at 1920x1080p but will probably ask for a 1440p monitor for Christmas. Would 2 gtx 770s max out games at 1440p? And should I make my second 770 purchase?

sli is better than one better card? if sli has a considerable performance benefit yes. if a single card is within 10-15% the performance of an sli setup, absolutely not for so many reasons like, the need for a higher tier/wattage power supply, more heat, a non budget class motherboard, and not much options for micro/mini itx cases.
