Hi. I currently have an AMD Fx-4100 Black Edition at 3.6 GHz on an MSI 970a G46 MoBo.
I am looking to upgrade both of these components with a budget of <$400.
I mainly use my computer for playing games such as CS:GO, DotA 2, and occasionally Minecraft, as well as streaming sometimes.

Other Specs:
Ram: 8 GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2 GHz
Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition

It's tit-4-tat. Granted the 7770/250x is quite on the low end of the gpu scale, but so is the 4100 low on the cpu side. Anything worth upgrading to is going to be throttled by the cpu. Trying to upgrade all 3 would be more of a sideways move than a real upgrade. Honestly both cpu and Gpu need an overhaul, but since it's impossible to throttle a cpu by gpu, starting with a great cpu/mobo makes more sense. Any cpu type games will see a good improvement, and the gpu will be able to play to its extreme
