Hi guys,

I recently built my first computer and have been overall extremely happy with it. However, I've noticed that even after adding fans and changing thermal compounds, my temperatures seem to average too high.

I've got an i5-4690k with a very mild overclock of 4.1 GHZ at 1.065V. The CPU is coupled with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. PCPartPicker Components List.

I just tried replacing the stock fan with a single Noctua NF-F12 in a push setup. See attached picture for the fan configuration (red = exhaust; blue = intake). I also just moved the (2) Cougar 140MM fans from inside the case, to the outside between the metal and the top shroud so I could attach it with rubber grommets and give the case a little more room inside.

With this setup, I average about 34º at idle and about 68º when running IntelBurnTest on high. These temps seem way too high, even for the budget cooler. I'm hesitant to overclock the CPU any more since it will be running so hot. I'm also buying another GTX 760 to SLI in about a month and am worried the temps will be even higher.

What are your guys thoughts and opinions on this?

I had the same thought and that's why I tossed on the Noctua NF-F12 on the EVO. The temperature remained relatively the same.

did you turn the fans up. try turning of non useful parts of the cpu of maybe the on die gpu.

Fans are set to 100% at 60º. What do you mean non useful parts of the cpu?
