USB ports not working

Wasn't sure where to post this. Noob to this stuff.

My pc was overheating, so I decided to clean the heatsink. I read on here that it was acceptable to remove it and spray with canned air, do I did that. I also removed my gpu and cleaned it as well.

I ended up bending some of the pins on the cpu when I was trying to put the heatsink back on because it somehow popped out of the lock. I guess I was putting too much pressure.

Well, now my usb ports don't work and I get nothing on my monitor.

Did I ruin my cpu by bending the pins, or the mobo by putting way too much pressure down? Or maybe static? All the fans turn on.
Just no power to anything outside.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like an AMD CPU, and it's very possible, I usually take a couple of razor blades to straighten pins, they need to be a straight as possible else you may not get full contact...and yes too much pressure can mess things up also :(

Thanks for the response. It is AMD.

Should I even bother trying to straighten the pins any more than they are, or do I just need to replace it?

Does the CPU have an affect on the ports like that?

Checked it out again. Looks like I didn't bend one pin back all the way and it melted off or something.

Will this going to have affected the mobo? Will I need to replace it as well?
