I just finish building my computer.
It's been incomplete for over a year but I finally purchased the last piece to the puzzle.
GPU: Asus R9280X-DC2T-3GD5
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5/
But after installing latest drivers it seems to be running a bit slow.
I think its not getting enough Power.
PSU: Enermax 500W
http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_2&l...
Any help would be much appreciated.

No, get rid of it. Get something that's made by a reputable company, like corsair (high end RM and AX/i models only) seasonic, antec, or xfx (which is made by seasonic). Make sure it's at least 80+ bronze or gold certified.

You should be looking at around 600W.

Look for Corsair, Antec, or Seasonic. Those are the best brands.

wow, since when Enermax is "questionable" brand.. ??

they are also one of OEM in PSU.. (like seasonic, etc..)
but usually they outsource it to other company for their middle/lower tier PSU (like corsair, etc..)
and only make the high tier PSU them self..

they are far from "bad" company...........
(try check in OEM PSU guide/list... there a listed OEM company for what PSU model..)

also there also a web that divide PSU model by their tier..
but i'm forget the address. will update here later..

superflower has great power supplies.

I wouldn't trust CM, but it's not a bad brand by any means. Check jonnyguru.com for psu reviews and make sure there are no cons when you purchase one, or at least something that doesn't trouble you, like non-modular.

CM V series is in the Tier 1 in the PSU link and one of the cheapest.
Would my partner need to upgrade her PSU if her GPU is a gigabyte 280x?
It is only 500W

500W is good enough, I'd say. I don't believe that's the V series, but I think it's the VS, which is still in the tier two. It's a perfectly fine power supply for the card.

My GPU requires minimun of 750W would it be better to get a better quality tier from the list or a lower tier but higher wattage?

280x should run around 550 - 600W. I've never seen any builds that blow up from using that level. Just make sure to get a high tier if you're going to get something lower than 'recommended'

U're correct, but if u notice the post is not much time different, my internet slow (third world country), and I'm also in workplace (so I'm not constantly refresh the page).. but let's just stop at there..

as the post that linked there is a good guide recommended for anyone who wanna buy/replace psu..
