So ive gotten into overclocking I have the sufficient cooling for it which is a hyper 212 Evo,
My Mobo is Z77A-G45 8 gbs of ram at 1333 ghz
Fore some reason I havnt been able to put up my vcore, ive disabled all power conserving options ive done some research on the options in my bios so I know which ones.
for some reason my vcore is stuck at 1.2v i think the highest i got it was like 1.24v but it was throttling the insufficient amount of voltage is making my cpu crash when i put up the multiplier im trying to achieve 4.2ghz ive been running prime95 to stress test it seems i can make it to 4.0 ghZ without crashing but i didn't do extensive testing maybe about 1 hour. Ive tried everything looking though forums cant really seem to find a solid answer. i do moniter my temps by the way never goes over 53c on 4.0 ghz full load. For example right now in my bios i have the vcore set to 1.235v but CPU-z is showing 1.200v-1.208v. Bios Are up to date
Thank you

Try setting the LLC (load line) to a higher level, also check you dont have any CPU watt limits set.

Dont pay too much attention to CPU-z voltage figures either, it doesnt always match up, and isnt always right.

Even when I apply the settings in bios I go back after and it has a little area where it shows pc health, shows vcore ect.
is there any other program that will show it a little more accurately ill try that when I wake up later on today as im tired of looking at my screen ha

I think CPU-Z shows your VCore.

ok so I put the voltage up to 1.280v and CPU-z and bios shows 164v the bios voltage input are out of wack but it still goes up just not the right values. I can work off of this but its going to be annoying - UPDATE ok nevermind now the voltage is jumping from
1.248 1.256 during Prime95 when in bios it is set to 1.8v

dont set it at 1.8v in the bios! this is will a sure way to kill your cpu!

ok ive figured it out haah sorry I didn't put it at 1.8 I put it at 1.28v I really need to re read my post before putting them up! well the problem was that the MSI mobo I have is effin weird so the tutorials I was looking up were incorrect. which was telling me to do over clocking through my custom OC Genie, every time I would do that it would give me some weird voltage no matter what I put it at, along with voltage jumping up and down which was weird. So I managed to figure out the correct way to do it. Man these MSI boards sure are misleading.
