Hello! I've posted here before hence "again" in the title. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2265690/4790k-high-temperatures.html

I've had temperature problems before, but they're sort of fixed because my previous CPU was faulty. I have the same set-up as indicated before, ArcticSilver 5, the Rosewill RCX-Z300 cooler, but a new i7-4790K processor. My ambient/simple task temps are about 27C-33C depending on my room temperature. I run the Prime95 test and I get 90C average after 1 minute with Small FFTs and 80C average with Blend after 1-2 minutes. Are these temperatures normal or do I need to reseat my cooler and re-apply thermal paste using a different method(I used the pea method)?

I used RealTemp and HWMonitor to record my temperatures; they both showed the same results. I also underclocked the Turbo Boost to 4.2GHz to give the processor cooler temps, 4.4GHz just increases them by ~5C.

Thank you.

Those temperatures are way too high for the processor, I would suggest making sure that the CPU fan is working and that there is enough air flowing through the case as well. You can try to reapply the thermal paste but if it was applied properly in the first place then it shouldn't be the problem

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure everything is well with good airflow. I'm just afraid that I got air bubbles or if I put too much.

Are there any cheap but good coolers that aren't water cooled and don't use screws to install?
