Will a LGA 2011 CPU work with a LGA 2011-3 Motherboard socket?

I'm looking to buy a new motherboard and CPU, I want to get the MSI X99S and the Intel Core i7-3820 but the 3820 is a LGA 2011 socket so I'm not sure if it will work with the new LGA 2011-3 socket.

Any help is appreciated!

The i7 3820 will not work with the new lga2011-3 socket, so you will have to get a motherboard with the x79 chipset on it rather than the new x99 one
