Thank you guys for the quick response, these are the important pc parts that am sketching
CPU i7-4790K http://ark.intel.com/products/80807/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_40-GHz
MB Z97 GAMING 5 http://www.microcenter.com/product/433130/z97-gaming_5_1150atx_intel_motherboard
RAM CORSAIR XMS 32GB

I checked the link of the discussion and people tend to go off topic. my ultimate question is how is the ti better with less Vram if that's the case?
am planning on using one monitor but I do graphic design and 3d modeling (gaming is priority).
also am willing to upgrade to another 3gbti if I went with the ti and if it would be appropriate at the time.

The less the VRAM then the faster the game takes to pull the data. My analogy is it is faster to pull a 3m rope than a 6m rope from a person.

I also need to know what res your monitors are, how many monitors you have and do you plan on adding more monitors in the future, if you are on a single 1080p monitor right now, with no plan on upgrading, a 780ti, if you have 2 or more monitors, a 780 6gb would be better
