Hard drive won't show up on new motherboard

So I replaced my motherboard because my old one died and I'm having some trouble getting my 500gb hard drive to show up. My other 2tb works as well as my 840 evo and I can only get the 500gb to show up if I disable CSM compatibility in the bios which is supposed to help but alas I don't know so uh help. Motherboard is a asus m5a97 r2.0 on the latest bios and the hard drive is a samsung 502hj I'm not at home at the moment so I'll try anything when I get back also sorry for the wall of text on my phone.

- SSD in sata port 0? 2tb in port 1? and 500gb in port2?

Samsung plugged in properly - data and power?
Samsung listed in bios? In device Manager? Working properly? Driver up to date?

Yup ahci / sata drivers are all installed plugged in correctly and if it doesn't show up in the bios it doesn't show up in windows also the only way to get it to show up is to disable CSM in the bios.

Not drivers. Power and data cables?

If it's plugged in properly and doesn't show up in bios then either you mobo or the drive is faulty.

Everything's plugged in properly hard drive isn't faulty as it works fine when CSM is disabled and the motherboard isn't faulty because my friend owns the same one and the same thing happens
