Hi just been given a Dell xps M1730 Laptop (Beast)

This Model is the 9500 , 4Gb , 256mb single video card. 8700m GT

My question is can I upgrade this model to dual sli video card model. for exp 9800m GTX.

The cards appear to fit the same chassis the only difference I can see is the large Heatsink where the other video card would be. going by pictures on ebay.

Is there other differences in the actual laptop model that would prevent this.

Cheers

9500 are not supported sli. and even if it support you cant SLI Different Models. example if you have gtx 770. you can only sli with another 770. you cant sli it with 760 or 780 or another model.

Thanks for replies but I dont think I have explain this properly

I have a Dell XPS m1730, T9500MHz, 4 G/B, 320 HDD.
This model I was given is fitted with a single GPU 8700m GT video card non SLi.

I would very much like to update to a Dual GPU card 9800m GTX SLi, but I am trying to confirm that all laptop models of the 1730 are capable of running with a Dual GPU card sli fitted.

On ebay I see lower spec's CPU 1730 fitted with Dual GPU cards Sli.

I dont want to purchase a 9800m GTX only to find out the model of my 1730 is not compatiable.

Hope thats clearer.

From research on the net I know folowing the initial release of the 1730 the option to have dual GPU video card SLi was made available.
