FX 8 will OC awesomely with that MoBo and cooler to match and even better i5's performance. Antec HCG 520W will be plenty for your build and is excellent quality too. I selected a better monitor with less response time for lesser price.

Had to swap out the CPU and mobo to get the price down, also went for a bit cheaper case. Where in Aus are you located?

I have to be honest with you. I have never used AMD cpus so that is why i chose intel since im using them right now. If you compare the AMD chip u recommended with my intel chip, is it more powerful? Cause everywhere i go people recommend me an AMD chip instead of intel

In the low end segment AMD have better performance. Also something like an FX 8320 will outperform an i5 in things like rendering and editing because the extra cores are properly utilised. Intel tend to be better at gaming due to better single core performance but for price/performance AMD is much better.

Also your location is going to affect the price considerably since shipping is expensive in Aus. If you are in Syndey Mwave and Umart are going to be the cheapest options, Melbourne PCCasegear, Brisbane/GC Umart. I'm not sure but I think CPL is in Melbourne too.

i5 has better single core performance. But, once you OC that AMD, it usually matches the i5 K version CPU performance, besides being cheaper.

Since the Intel you chose is non-OCable, you might feel a bit held back with the clock speeds, but not in any way with the current games. i5 is enough for gaming but the K versions are a lot better. Now, here, the K versions will sky-rocket the costs.

So to get a better performance/price ratio, we can squeeze in the FX 8 which'll give i5's performance once OCed and may even better it.

Besides that, it'll race ahead of i5 in rendering and other parallel thread intensive tasks.

AMD chips doesn't necessarily more powerful than intel. Intel has better performance on SINGLE CORE performance, and AMD has better MULTI CORE performance. If you play AAA games which usually GPU bound, using intel or AMD is fine, however, if you play unoptimized shit game/too much CPU bound like DayZ, Guild Wars 2, FSX, Skyrim, old games etc using intel WILL HELP A TON.

Unoptimized games can't utilize many threads which all moderns CPUs have to offer, so instead the games will be only using 1-2 threads only rather than fully utilise many threads that i5 or FX-8 series have. Because of that single core performance is VERY IMPORTANT in unoptimized games, that's where the i5 shines. Many games can utilise many threads e.g BF4 and Crysis, so for games like those, having more threads is better theoritically (i5 has 4 threads and FX-8 has 8 threads)

But remember that AMD has better MULTI CORE performance/more threads (at that price range only though) so you can easily do heavy multi-tasking better than intel counterparts.
