In order to install a new GPU, I am adding a fan to my Asus M11BB. The computer came with no case fans at all, but one position near the top of the back of the case where you can potentially add a fan. When I install the fan, should I use it as an intake fan, or an exhaust fan?

More about : intake fan exhaust fan

Install it on the back/top as exhaust fan. Also buy one more please and install it on the front side of the case or on the side as INTAKE fan!

Top = Exhaust fan

Rear = Exhaust

Front = Intake

The connection for the intake fan is covered. Would it be okay if I only used an exhaust fan?

Yes it is good that you have a fan to get the hot air out of the computer case, however would highly recommend 1 intake fan as well. If you don't have any I would open side doors of the case in summer time

Just make sure to keep it free of dust

The front of the computer is covered by a plastic shell.

It looks like it is covered but most pc's have vents there as well as mesh for mounting fans with 80mm or 120mm fan slots. just check and make sure that it is not solid.

If it is an old cheap case it will have a place for back fan only that is true... Nothing you can do about it :/  just open the side panel of the case during the summer or buy new case would be my best recommendation :)
