Hey guys, I'd like to build a new PC for myself from scratch, with a budget of £650 and mid-high level gaming in mind. I would also like to stream, however, I don't have much interest in running brand new and graphically demanding games on max settings, the only games I'd really like to stream are WoW (classic not Mists of Pandaria, so older graphics) and Quake Live.

The only trouble is, in order to stream Quake (not so important for WoW), I need to have a constant 250 fps or it will effect my performance if I plan to stream tournaments. I'm not sure if streaming is heavier on the CPU or GPU.

Here are the parts I had in mind (bear in mind this is my first ever custom pc ><) what I'm mostly concerned about is how cheap the Motherboard is...

The reason I've picked 2 GPUs to run as a crossfire is that I figured it would stream much more smoothly, but that's just a guess.

And just as an example, this is a small 10 minute clip of a Quake streamer so you can see how low down the graphics can be turned, and is my desired quality for the stream (stream doesnt need to be 250 fps, it can be 30fps, but the game must be 250 :) )

So in short... Are the parts I've chosen sufficient for High quality streaming of medium ranged games?

Thanks for reading! I appreciate any advice!

Thanks so much for these tips, so I made some changes, i popped in an fx8320, the 970 chipset and for the GPU chose a GeForce GeForce GTX 780 - 3GB

Also for RAM does it make much of a difference, speed wise, if I have 2x4GB or 1x8GB? there are huge price differences, so I chose a 2x4GB, guessing it would be faster.

Here's the updated link :)

Great, thanks! This is what I've got so far.. I decided to be cheap and not go for that CPU and keep the old one since it's cheaper >_> but I grabbed the RAM and PSU from your suggestion. Just over £650 without an OS, which I'll sort out later after I start buying the parts, so I guess it'll come to about £700-730, not too bad I guess :) What do you think?

Thanks again for the help

Great, well I added an HDD, but it might be a bit overkill, haha. Also the 2 RAM are just placeholders at the moment, cheapest 2x4GBs i can find on the site, but it gives a good idea on price.

My only other concern is that the case may be a bit small for all of this, do you think a "mid case" will be big enough for all this?

Thanks buddy
