Hey everyone, I have a new Windows 8.1 laptop, and it seems to be having some sort of issue with the internet and games.

I've had wifi for a while now, and on my previous windows 7 computer I had absolutely no problems. But now, with my new computer, I get random lag spikes in games for no apparent reason. My overall ping is higher, and occasionally I will see it jumping to over 3000 in games. I tried different games and servers, and I'm still getting the problem. Windows Diagnostics says "There's nothing wrong" (Typical.) and I've disabled some services, tried rebooting my router, but to no avail. Does anyone know anything about this? Willing to post any necessary info.

When you are pinging the servers - are the returning IP V4 addresses or IP V6 addresses? I had issues on my 8.1 computer until I enabled DHCP on my router for IP V6. It was continuously timing out on ping requests to major websites like facebook, google, yahoo, etc...after enabling IP V6 DHCP, they are in the 20-40ms range.
