Bought skullcandy plyr 1 headset for pc gaming thinking the usb input would include mic and 7.1 surround. I found out the optical cable, which I thought was solely for consoles, manages the 7.1 and I don't have optical outputs on my motherboard and I don't have a sound card. I didn't know if there might be some kind of adapter I could get rather than buying a sound card with an optical output? if not can anyone please recoomend me a cheap sound card or adapter. (sorry i cpied and pasted another thread that did not have the answer)

That sound card should work - you will need to disable the sound on the mobo after installing the card.
