So my friends dad gave him an old laptop with a bust harddrive, he gave it to me because he hasnt got the patience to do it. I had a spare 2.5 WD Scorpion HDD laying around. I put it in the toshiba and I need a password to get to the bios.

Does anyone know a way to even access the bios. I need to, to install windows 7 so i can use the laptop for home use. Any suggestions or anyway to get a password? Anyway to reset it?

Clear the CMOS. You can do this by remove the watch sized battery on the mobo for about 5 minutes then putting it back in.

Hope this helps :)

Ive already tried, I took apart the computer and the CMOS is soldered the the motherboard. Its like almost impossible for someone like me to un solder and solder back together. Anything else?
