Im going to build my first pc soon :D  and was wondering what graphics card should i get?(im thinking between 760 or 770). Should i go with a more expensive 770 or with a more cheaper 760 and should i buy one with increased memory zise. im going to play dark souls 2 and maybe some battlefield 4.

Which res you are playing at? What is the point of going to 760 when 770 is an option. Grab Asus GTX 770 4GB but make sure it has Direct CU II tech from Asus.

why are you comparing these graphics cards? the GTX 770 has every single advantage over the gtx 760 with no drawbacks, so obviously the gtx 770.

Now if you said GTX 770 2GB vs. gtx 760 4GB then that would be a different story.

a cheaper amd counterpart to the gtx 770 would be the r9 280X, so if you want to deal with the extra heat but get it for cheaper then that is a great card.

Hey, I believe I've answered your query earlier. Grab 770 4GB version from Asus and make sure it has Direct CU-II cooling power.

From experience, Dark Souls 2 is very well optimized. My GTX 750 Ti plays it on ultra, 1080p, 60 fps easily. That includes with simple lighting mods like SweetFX. Since you probably don't want to spend more than necessary getting a GTX 770 unless you have to, I can safely say a GTX 760 would be more than enough for Dark Souls 2.

BF4 is harder, and would actually benefit from the GTX 770.

However, I also need to point out that neither Dark Souls 2 or BF4 use Nvidia specific effects, and in fact BF4 uses Mantle. An R9 280 would probably get you more for the dollar in the two games you listed.

Getting card just for BF4! Then definitely AMD cards are recommended. But why one game! I wonder

If you don't mind considering the red team, the R9 280X w/3GB of VRAM gives you the about the same performance and an extra GB of VRAM as the 770 2GB, for less money.

Also take a look at the game bundles. It's a small consideration, but both teams are offering good but different bundles.

Not just one game, two games, BF4 and Dark Souls 2. It says that quite clearly in the question.

Thanks for pointing out. My contention is actually this: Buying GPU just for two games does not make sense at all. GPU selection should be based on much broader spectrum factors not just games only. I hope I'm able to make my point clear
