My new build parts are on there merry way, however I cannot decide on a monitor at all.
I'm after a 144hz for gaming/watching movies. But they all seem Nvidia 3D 2 Ready, but i'll have a R9 290X so im not sure how useful that will be.

basically, i'll be using this monitor for both PC and XOne (So HDMI is required) and my budget is aprox £250

My current choices are,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2411Z-24-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00HZF2JWA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1409586998&sr=8-2&keywords=144hz

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VG248QE-24-inch-LED-Monitor/dp/B00B19T7QC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409586998&sr=8-1&keywords=144hz

But any alternatives would be greatly appreciated and the less motion blur the better.
Also is 3D on Radeon cards any good? Thanks a bunch in advance guys/girls!

Solution
the asus vg248QE is in my opinion the best of all of them. Since it has countless 5 star reviews.

and that 3d is NVIDIA's 3d Vision. So it won't work on a radeon card.

Does Radeon's own 3d not work very well with the 3d Vision 2 Hardware?
I've looked myself, but cant find much information and was hoping someone here might have a personal experience

I too can recommend the Asus VG248QE. I have one myself and I love it. Great value.

The presets are horrible though so calibrating might be a little difficult with this screen. If you want I can give you my settings and there are plenty of examples of good settings on the web and ICC profiles are also an option so don't let that stop you.

thanks vex, My current monitors are one 5 year old things with 850:1 contrast. and another square thing which boats being "Flatscreen"
so the improvements should be quite significant regardless!
If you can PM me your settings though if I do end up buying that monitor i'll deffinately try them out!

I'll just post them here if you don't mind, in case anyone else with the same question comes along.

Here goes:
Splendid Mode: Theater
Brightness: 35 (had it at 60 first but turned it down over the course of a few days)
Contrast: 60
Saturation: 60
Color Temp.: User Mode -> Red: 99 Green: 98 Blue: 87
Skin Tone: Natural
Smart View: Off
Sharpness: 50
Trace Free: 80 (performs much better than 100 for some reason)
ASCR: Off

This is at 144Hz using DisplayPort and I'm not using an ICC Profile, their Gamma is generally too low for me, can't see anything in dark areas.

ICC Profiles:
