Hi,
So I have this problem with the router being so far from my computer (Like 20 meters) and my TP-Link WN721N USB Wi-Fi adapter can't connect to it.
What I did was I got a TP-Link access point/repeater which is TP-Link WA901A 300Mbps (HAS 3 ANTENNAS FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!) and I placed it between my computer and the original router and chose the "Universal Repeater" mode (And then tried Bridge with AP mode).
What I am getting is a signal of -71db and less (Its negative, i.e -75db is less), the computer can connect, but I am barely receiving 40% of the full speed and sometimes it spikes during gaming.
The second thing I did was remove the USB Wi-Fi adapter and use a cable to connect my computer to the TP-Link router and place this router next to my computer (It has 3 antennas, it should connect to a 20 meter router, shouldn't it?) and chose the Client mode. (So the TP-Link router acts as an adapter now).
But now, the connection keeps disconnecting between the two routers, even though the TP-Link router says that it has a signal of 4/5 (Which is great), but it keeps disconnecting and doesn't receive a good speed. I have tried changing the channels but channel 1 was the best. Here is a picture of the TP-Link router survey list:
I can't move the original router as my connection is Wimax. If I use my brother's laptop and move next to the original router, I get full speed and no spikes in online games, so the problem is not with my ISP.
