I just purchased a Asus R9 280x TOP and I have not purchased my new power supply yet. I would like to test it within my 14 day window as its used. I have a current PC with a thermaltake 430w thats running a Intel E2220 at stock and I was wonderiing if i could power the card with that PSU just to test that it works, I wont be running games or anything on it to push it since its prolly pretty low to handle the card. Any tips thanks again

Just for power-on testing, you should be okay, but do not put any sort of load on it at all with that power supply. Slot it in, wait for video output, and that's about it. You'd need a good 500W or 600W PSU to actually power that card, and Thermaltake power supplies are very hit-and-miss with several of their models at the very bottom of this list with the other potentially dangerous tier-5 units. If you're going to try this, make sure your PSU has the proper 6/8-pin power cables as well.
