hi guys,
I have a problem with random boot issues suddenly appearing on my setup using raid 0 setup with a ssd cache.
This is intermittent and i have no idea what is causing the issue.

Sometimes when i boot up my machine i get a 'no system/boot disk, pls insert a disk to boot from' error. To get around this i have to press F11 during boot up and manually select the Raid boot disk to boot from (which is already setup as the 1st boot device in the bios)
Sometimes it boots normally and there are no issues.

I have a 128GB SSD setup as a 64GB cache and 64GB data drive.
I do not have any experience with RAID setups before this and was wondering if using the steps here would be a good idea.

This only happened after a hard lock/hang when i tried to mount an iso file in poweriso.
When i reset my machine, the intel raid tool started and made some repairs, I then ran checkdisk which rebooted my pc a few times with multiple repairs.

I've also tried different sata cables and the issue is still intermittent. Not sure how else to work this.
thanks

Sorry if im missing some details.
I have 2 drives.
1. Corsair force lx ssd 128 gb
2. Seagate 2 TB drive

Windows was initially installed on the seagate hard drive. I then got the SSD and used Intel RST to setup the SSD drive as a 64gb cache, and used the remaining 64gb as a data drive. It worked well for the past 7 months.

So its not a 'true' raid 0 setup. but its setup as a raid 0 array by Intel RST

yep. that was the plan. i was just too lazy to do a reinstall of windows and all my apps.. so i took the easy way out and set it up as a cache drive.
If the boot issue gets worse i'll do a reinstall. have a windows 8 key that i bought for cheap but never bothered to upgrade yet.

Do a reinstall, your configuration is not stable on a RAID0 with two completely different disks.
