So I know that the k version can be overclocked unlike the Non k version but for purely gaming is it actually worth it? spending £15 pound more for the cpu, spend more on the cpu cooler and having higher temps and more power consumption all for around 5-15 fps increase? What should I buy? Thanks you.

Solution
its your opinion, either one will do fine. if you dont like the downsides of overclocking, get the locked processor

if you go with a locked i5, get the 4590 instead. its the same as the 4690 but with a small mhz. drop, which wont make a big difference in gaming at all (maybe 5fps at most)

yeah, I'd say so, you might not want to oc now, but you might later in the future, always better to have the option to than to not have it at all, plus, by oc'ing you can get a few more fps on cpu intensive games, granted it's not like 20fps boost but you can get maybe 10fps more

It depends, how long do you expect it to be before you next upgrade your cpu. If it's a while, go for the 4670k because at least you can squeeze more performance out of it. If you expect to upgrade sooner or don't particularly care for overclocking, jut get the 4670, it's cheaper.
