How do I go about choosing optimal RAM frequency?

I'm new at building computers. I've devised a parts list of things I want to build a gaming PC. I know the basics and how to assemble the parts, but I'm not sure which frequency to go with... What I have so far >>

MSi A88XM FM2+ Gaming Mobo
AMD A10-7850K Kaveri FM2+ 12-Core APU
(AMD Radeon Dual Channel 8Gb DDR3 1600)
Arctic Freezer A11 Heatsink /w Fan
(Upon it's release) --- XFX Radeon R9-285 2Gb GDDR5 GPU
..... and more .....

I've heard it's wiser to go with a faster RAM module, but I would like further input by more experienced individuals.

THANKS!! - Brett

As for memory, APUs tend to like high speed memory and the A10-7850K supports DDR3-2133 natively. I'd go with that.

I am aware of the core configuration, but overall, in a technical sense, there are 12 cores. Lol
