Greetings;
I need help figuring out what's causing the sporadic freezing and artifcating on videogames I play on my desktop, and finding out the most quick and efficient way to fix it.

These freezes are usually 4 to 5 seconds long and do not crash the game. I am able to return to the game, but the freezes also tend to occur more then once.

I first started having this problem when I replaced my broken PSU, although I used to have the nvlddmkm error

I reduced the frequency of the freezes by manually speeding up the gpu fan, as they grown in frequency as the GPU heats up, but even sitting stable at 40ºC the freezes may still occur.

Restarting the game or computer tends to delay freezes.

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GTX680
PSU:Corsair RM650
Previous PSU: Corsair HM650
Ram: 8GB
Display: 1920*1080 60hz

Solution
2 possibiities here

1. Your GPU has issues.
2.RAM gone bad.
Run memetest86 for a few passes (at least 4) and see if it gives any error. RAM issues can be very frustrating because it's usually the last thing we think about.

And if you had a fried PSU, I wouldn't keep the mobo out of our scope. But that'safter we eliminated GPU nad RAM as the problem.

CPU Temperatures are fine, and GPU temps with the fan at 85% are also ok. My case is COOLER MASTER HAF XM

I've been using Asus bios and EVGA precision x to check temps, should I use those instead?

If heat isn't the issue, you need a new card. Very common signs of defective GPUs are artifacting, call EVGA because they have great customer service.

Can't it be the PSU since this only started to happen when I replaced it, or did the card turn faulty after the other psu fried?

Thanks, haven't tested the RAM at all, will do.
