Guys, I'm looking forward to building a new pc but I have a hard decision to make. Which of these two should I choose ?
G3258 + ASRock Z97 Extreme 3
FX 6300 + GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P
Now, this PC is build mainly for gaming ( R9 270 will be my card) on 1920x1080. I know that the Pentium is much more better in single thread apps and has a much better single core performance and I can overclock it to be even better but the FX has 6 cores and more and more games start to use more than two so I think this is a bid advantage. Also a problem should be the upgrade path. With FX I'll be able to upgrade to 9590 or something like that but nothing more. On the other side, the Pentium (better said the Z97 chipset) will allow me to upgrade to an i5 / i7 Broadwell so I don't know what to do. For now I think the FX is somehow better (and for the coming games) even if overclocked G3258 really kicks ass and beats the FX in some games but in the future will Intel (keep in mind that I intend to upgrade to broadwell in a year or so) be a wiser choice ?
