Network / Internet Connection Confusion

My grandfather recently upgraded our internet service from standard Verizon FIOs to Verizon FIOs Quantum. Do to us getting the upgrade, we also received a new router, we hooked everything up fine and I was able to connect just fine, with increased speed of course. However I notice that I was frequently loosing connection to the internet on my Laptop.

Now before we did the upgrade I would have connection drops from the Network 2-3 times a day, and the connection would be back within 30 seconds on all of my devices. However now that we upgraded I do not loose connection from the network, just the internet, and only on my laptop.

Before it would be the 4 signal bars and a red X and after 30 seconds it would be clear white bars again. Now it is a yellow ! sign for 5-10 minutes.

I can fix it quickly (by fix I mean get my connection back) by right clicking the bars and trouble shooting, and it will fix the problem by saying "Default Gateway not Available" FIXED! with a green check point, and boom! I got my connection. but then anywhere from 2-10 minutes the entire process starts again.

I do not have this problem on any other devices, except for my laptop I upgraded all of my drivers for my network adapters and still nothing, I also ran 3 different virus scans and they all came up clean.

What is the make and model of the router?

You might be able to improve the connection by changing the wifi channel bandwidth on the router to 20MHz, but you may sacrifice a little of the wireless speed for all users.

Unfortunately, some wireless devices just don't work well together. You may just need to consider purchasing a new wireless adapter (internal or external) for your laptop.

I fixed it guys, apparently the built in Network Adapter was not compatible with my new Router. Went to wallmart and picked up a 40$ adapter and everything works fine now, I was pissed how I had to buy something extra for this shit.
