Hi! I'm buying a new monitor for gaming (MX279H) and I was going to buy a graphics card later. But then I thought, why not buy both now? I'm not quite sure wether if the R9 290x is worth the price, or if I should just get the R9 290. If I get any of those, I'll get the MSI Twin Frozr one because I heard that it is great, and I like its design and color (my case is red/windowed). I'm just not sure if I should get the card now, or wait 1~2 months. How much do you think the price will drop? Until when do you think the R9 290 will be able to max out (with AA) games? Do you think it will max out GTA 5 when it comes out? All this on 1080.
Thanks!

Yes it will max out GTA V and most likely every game that will come out this year and throughout next year (can't guarantee for sure because you never 100% know).

Another thing, I usually don't do this, but I was thinking if buying a used R9 290x for the price of a R9 290 was a good idea. On amazon, it says that in a very good state. What's your opinion?

you get diminishing returns for your money are you approach top end. Of course the R9-290x is better and will therefore be slightly more future proof by about 2-4 fps. Is that worth the extra money? Only you know that.
The best high end value is typically one below the top card.

I might get the MSI Twin Frozr R9 290X. I think it comes with the warranty, and it says it is very good. I still have a 30-day return policy and a 1 year long warranty. All this for 10~20€ more than the MSI Twin Frozr R9 290

I bought it used, it comes with warranty and all that. If I don't like it, I'll just return it and buy a new R9 290 instead of the used R9 290x that they say is in very good state
