i use a PS3 controller for my pc gaming, and its never been a problem, but the usb i used was pretty short, so i had to stay really close to the pc, so i got an original ps3 usb cable (the ones that come with the ps3 itself) that was pretty long, and it went fine, until it started malfunctioning, i just assumed my controller was busted, so i just stopped using it, but after some testing, i found out that using my short cable worked perfectly, whyle i tried to test if it was the long one that was broken, i plugged it back in, and now windows wont detect my controller, even if i plug my short wire it just doesnt event tunr the "power" lights on the controller, and that only happens with one of my controllers, if i use a different one, it works perfectly, but i want my other one to work, because its better quality (the other is a bootleg controller mom bought without noticing it was fake) so what could it be? why only with one cable, and only one controller i have issues?

This used to happen to me. Try step 3: http://www.wikihow.com/Sync-a-PS3-Controller

the issue is not with a ps3, but on a PC, as i said "i use a ps3 controller for my pc gaming"

I know but still try reseting the controller.
