Want to build a system around the ASRock Extreme 3 Mobo. Regarding the "Ultra M.2" socket. It utilizes 4 pci lanes vs. the 2 lanes used by M.2 sockets. Will any M.2 storage device automatically take advantage of the 4 lanes available or will I need to wait for a different version of the M.2 to come out. I want to use the A-Data ASP900NS38-512GM-C.

Solution
Your SSD needs to know to use the 4 lanes.
At the moment, there is just one drive that supports that - SAMSUNG XP941.
(And not even sure it can be sold in retail, it's an OEM product).

My information could be outdated, so other drives may have appeared with such support.
Your A-Data is using the old SandForce SF-2281 controller, which definitely doesn't support 4 lanes.

You should wait and study the market.
