Building a PC for gaming. I am starting low price range with upgrades for the future. I have all the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) but need some help with the guts of the machine. I want to run the Total War games Rome and Medieval 2. My high end benchmark is King Arthur: The Role Playing Game 2 on medium settings without lag. Hoping to put that together for under $500. I am sure someone more knowledgeable than I could do it. Help?

I have never had a good experience with Intel. Can they acually be good? In any case, thank you.

All of my pcs through out the years were intel based , they are very good and nowadays much better than AMD ( in most price ranges ).

AMD Phenom X2 64 days are long gone.
