Which games can this PC play?

Hi! I got a PC at a garage sale for 30$ with a modern printer, tv and safe. It's a compaq presario s4300cl or nx (no idea, all stickers are scraped off except for "compaq"). I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on it, but i'm downgrading to Windows XP SP3. Which games can this PC play? It has a pentium 4 and 512MB of DDR memory. I have alot of old graphics cards/RAM that i'll check out if I can use. The resolution is 1024 × 768 I think.

It depends on what graphics card you get.

You should be able to play games such as Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 spectacularly, any games pre-2003 really.

It won't play any modern games for sure... I have a Pentium 4 521 and with 8 MB of iGPU memory, it struggles with Minesweeper, let alone more modern games

Dude, it is laggy in Minesweeper, let alone something fast like Roller Coaster tycoon (maybe not, but that's just an assumption). But, it's good enough to let me post here on tom's Hardware

Roller Coaster Tycoon uses a 1996 graphics engine and is one of the worlds most highly praised games for how efficiently it was programmed by Chris Sawyer and how it can even run on some of the oldest of systems. It was programmed in raw Assembly which has proven to be much better in outcome than coding in C and then compiling.

I bet all he really needs is a stick of 1GB RAM and the system will be much faster! Very likely it is too old for the RAM required by Windows 7 and is paging half the temp. data on its old slow hard drive.

I have 1.5 GB of DDR2 RAM and Windows 7 runs perfectly fine, except for maybe the time it takes to boot, which is around 1 minute, but I'm not going to go climbing on walls just because of that

Alright, I installed XP on it and it plays games like GTA 3, GTA vice city, sims 2, N64 ROMS at a OK frame rate.
I was planning to get a GPU in there, but I only have PCI-E and AGP cards, it takes PCI.
