GTX 780 Low Performance?

I recently started questioning my GTX 780's performance when I was struggling to max out the settings on CS:GO and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon at 1080p with a smooth frame rate. I ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and only got a score of 936.

The settings for the benchmark were as follows:
Render: Direct3D11
Mode: 1920x1080 8xAA fullscreen
Preset Custom
Quality Ultra
Tessellation: Extreme

Having looked online this seems like a very low score for my type of build.

My rig is as follows:
Corsair 750D
AMD FX-8350 (stock clock with h100i cooler)
EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard
8GB Corsair Vengeance LP RAM
1TB WD Caviar Black HDD
Corsair RM850 PSU

I recently upgraded a lot of parts in my build and haven't had much time to test the 780's performance since then, but it seems like it isn't doing as much as it could? I've gone from a GTX 660 Ti and I was really hoping to see more of a difference than I have! My drivers are correctly installed and up to date.

Is there anything else I can do to test my GTX 780's performance and check if it isn't working as well as it should? Any advice on what I could do would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Ed

Hey there, what about temperatures? Cards nowadays have a solution to overheating which is lowering the clockspeed to mantain acceptable temperatures.. If you experience slowdowns after sme minutes of use then the temperatures might be getting to high and the card is lowering its performance to handle the temps!!
This is a known problem on laptops and small cases. Check your temps with MSI AFTERBURNER or similar programs which display onscreen temps and usage and show us the results!!
Glad to have helped. Also check GPU core speed in msi , if it lowers when it gets to high temps..

Test your GPU on games on the recommended settings provided evga. If your games stutter graphically, ensure you are running your memory through your GPU not CPU. This is inside your nvidia control panel. Your CPU isn't the strongest CPU for games (comparing it to an Intel i5).
If your games are getting a respectable amount of frames (minimum 75-100) on recommended graphical settings, you should be alright. On one screen you should get a ton of frames on max settings for sure.

And just to give you my opinion in your previous card to the new card experience. I went fromba 650ti (which I could run everything max settings until 2013). I upgraded to the 780 on one monitor and got my 650ti experience and then some. Then I got 2 more monitors and of course I saw a huge difference since I still had my 650ti installed from time to time. I am unsure what you are expecting to see with the new card bc i believe your csrd is working fine from what you wrote. Please tell us what you are looking for.
