Hi
I have been upgrading my computer but it seems to be running slower than i had hoped for. For example if i have rome2 running, opening other programs seem to be slow at opening..Any ideas?
Here is the setup.
Motherboard: GA-990FXA-UD3
Cpu: Amd fx8350
12gb of ddr3 1333 memory
R7 260x graphics card
120 ssd
1tb wd black
coolmaster 500 psu

Also, What tools do you recommend for benchmarking?

1600 or 1866mhz ram could increase the speed of your system, but do you mean that its slower now than before you upgraded or its just not as fast as it was before the upgrade?

wrong using 1600 or 1860 mhz ram you will not see any noticeable difference in every day use and no noticeable difference in FPS in games.

This makes no sense at all. You have an FX 8350, 12gb RAM and an SSD and you're saying programs are slow at loading?

if u are getting lag of some kind then it could be because of the CPU overheating or a virus or malware.
so check the CPU temps and scan your pc with a good and updated antivirus .

GRUxTSAR. Yeah its slow at loading when trying to multitask it also randomly freezes up :(

prit87. The core temp is 35c no stress and 55 to 65 while under stress. No virus or malware.

Any other ideas? or any program suggestions i can use to check how the hardware should be running together ?

Everything seems perfectly normal when it comes to hardware. I'm also with the other guys saying you may have traces of malware

If you want to test your hardware then PRIME 95 for CPU , FURMARK for GPU, MEMTEST for RAM .

You have some form of virus/malware or just software corruption, frankly that setup should be as quick as a bunny.
