Best CPU for the board

I've had this board for a very long time but it has never faltered and never quit. I know that it can handle a better CPU. I know it wouldn't be a huge improvement but if i can keep things a little newer i will.
The mobo: K8N NEO V.2.0 it has NVIDIA etched into it in several spots I can provide photo if needed.
Its using a sempron 3400+ right now.
What is the best possible CPU this mobo will take?

I suggest you do a complete upgrade on mobo ram and cpu... it will cost less than the performance you will gain from getting a better cpu for that mobo..

According to my googling, the 3400+ is the fastest of the socket 754 Semprons that were made, but they are 32-bit.
The 64-bit Athlon 64 3700+ (core name San Diego) would be a noticeable boost I'd think if you can find it. It's the fastest CPU your mobo supports, if it looks like this:

From this thread, it looks like the 3700+ is the fastest, but I may be wrong. There isn't exactly benchmark reviews for chips that old lol.

The 3700+ is the same socket, so it should work, but you might have to update the BIOS. If you can on that board. And if you can find a compatible BIOS.

It's probably the onboard video powered by Nvidia, but can you post a picture of it? There's a few different boards that come up on Google search, so I'm not completely sure what board in particular you have.

Take a look at the link I posted, it's right to the manufacturer's website where they say the socket on your mobo does support it. Most it would take is a BIOS update as Jacob said.
