So this happened:

I hope this was some sort of glitch but my amd a10-5800k with the stock cooler and newly applied coolermaster thermal compound hit 255C (491F). Should I be worried or do you think its just a glitch?

What were you using to monitor your temps?

Use a different temperature monitoring program. 255C isn't actually possible, the silicon would have died long before then and 255 like -128 is a value that things tend to default to.

I use HW Monitor, but also try speedfan and coretemp. Compare their readings to AMD Overdrive and see what matches up
