I am in an apartment complex that is very congested with WiFi networks (there are 20+ options to connect to if I open up the Networks list on my PC). I have moved my WiFi to Channel 4 because that consistently gives me good connection and fast speeds. However, I have a printer that only seems to pick up channels 1, 6 and 11. It is a Brother MFC-J450DW. I had to change my WiFi temporarily to channel 6 to make my printer find my network to connect initially and it still barely picks it up after I have changed back to channel 4. Unfortunately, this makes printing speeds VERY slow. I have tested it, and if I move to channel 6 (I presume the same thing would happen with 1 and 11) it prints quickly again. Anybody know if there is a way to make the printer read other channels or to get around this issue some other way? I can't permanently change to channels 1, 6 or 11 because if I do my internet speeds drop to 1/5-1/6 of what they are when I am on channel 4. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

it cost you some money but pick up a 2.4/5g router and a 5g printer wifi kit. you be able to get out of the 2.4g band and should help you. if not try picking up a ap port and connecting it to your router. then have the printer conenct to to close ap. another cheap fit may be to use a power line unit and connect the printer to it.

After looking at your suggestions, I think that the power line units might be the cheapest and easiest fix. I have found some for $28 but have no idea what I am looking for when shopping for those. Any suggestions that are cheap and work well enough?
