Hi everyone

I am considering a 2nd drive and I would like to get either the 2tb WD Black or the 2tb WD Enterprise Edition. They are both back by 5 year warranty. The enterprise edition is a little bit more and seems more rock solid since on the WD website it says it can handle 550tb per year of read/write. Does anyone know what the read/write per year is on a WD Black ?

The Enterprise drives are intended for use in dense RAID environments and are usually designed to better resist vibration and their firmwares are optimized for behavior better suited to server rather than desktop environments (spin stabilization time, error condition recovery, etc). There is no significant advantage to using them in a desktop environment and they may, in fact, perform worse under some conditions.
