So i got the corsair h100i, intalled everything fine, usb plugged, fans plugged. Now there is one problem, im running windows 8.1, and my corsair link version is 2.7.5339. Still in the software i cant control my fans speed or pump, i cant even see them.
What should i do? My bios is updated and i have windows 8.1 updates, i saw that h100i wasnt compatible with windows 8.1 some months ago, but now is still not compatible?

I think the Corsair Link software only works with the two fans you can connect to the block via the additional cable, as far as I remember, it cannot control anything else.

I also seem to recall it had trouble controlling non SP120L (Stock H100i fans), although I believe that has been fixed now via a software update.

Use the BIOS or SpeedFan to control your fans.

Thats stupid, i bought h100i for the software, otherwise i would get the h110 if i wanted to control fans from BIOS. I have everything plugged, the fans either!
If i install windows 7 will i be able to control fans and led?

Thanks again.

The LED yes, the fans, probably not.

SpeedFan does it on the fly in much the same fashion - and it's also free.

I think the H100i has the advantage over the H110 because it can be remarkably tricky to find good static pressure optimised 140mm fans. It also features a sleeker block design.

Because like I said, Corsair Link doesn't do that, regardless of OS.

Of course I could be wrong, all of my fans are 3-pin and most are plugged into molex adapters. But I'm fairly certain it only controls from the Y-cable supplied.

Of course it does, thats why there is corsair link, to control the fans!
The h100i fans are 4 pins and have a conector so it should be controled by corsair link.

If you want to control your fans with Corsair Link you will need to buy one of their dedicated fan/LED control devices.
http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/corsair-link/corsair-link-hardware

The actual block on the Hi series only controls the two connected via the supplied Y-Splitter cable, I suppose in theory you could potentially use a further splitter to cut that current to 4 fans, what setting you make will be split between them.

There are some known issues with Corsair Link and Windows 8 from what I can tell, but all are many months old and don't relate to the control of case fans. They might have patched it by now.

Corsair Link is primarily intended for use with monitoring as opposed to adjusting.

There's so much freeware out there designed for controlling PWM fans that you really don't need CL. I only use it for monitoring liquid temps, and even that not very often.

If you check on youtube you can control your fans RPM by quiet, balanced, performance or maximum mode. So no i dont need those dedicated fan control devices.
Well thanks for trying to help, i dont know why im having this problem but ill install windows 7 to see how it goes. Thanks

Those are profiles preset for the stock SP120L fans, again, they must be connected to that splitter coming out of the top of the block. Any fans plugged into the board cannot be controlled.

Now that makes things clearer.

Alright. First of all, try making a new profile in the software. (It's a long shot, but you never know).

If not, straight from a Corsair rep on their forums FAQ thread: "Unplug the Corsair Link USB plug from your motherboard and reboot your system. Then re-attach the USB plug and reboot once more. This can force a re-detection.".

Potentially use a different USB header on your board - You never know.

Attempt to reinstall the software from scratch, erasing all profiles in the process, and/or use the 'Reset to Defaults' function.

If still nothing, perhaps a trial of Windows 7 would be advised.
My bet goes with it being the fault of Windows 8.

I did some registry trick that i saw on some forum, and re installed rhe h100i, and it actually worked the fans started spinning max speed after the installation and asked me to update firmware to 1.0.7 and i did. After that fans and pump not showing again, restarted pc, nothing again. I had to gett out of the pc im on the phone now, ill try tomorrow do a full bot now that i shutted down the pc.
Ill try the unplug and plug either, and try the other header too.
Is there anything else i need to do? My bios is updated.
Im just mad cause spend 120 dollars on it and now cant even control fans and pump. Tho i was playing league of legends and my temps went from 36 ( idle) to 38 load, and fans were quiet, so the cooler is grat.
Thanks for helping ill post tomorrow at the end of the day.

Edit: i saw that you have h80i in your description. Are you using w7 or w8/8.1.
Also my mobo is asrock z77 extreme4, can it be some compatibility problems with the mobo? Thanks

I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit.
It probably isn't the motherboard.

At worst you could just do away with CL entirely, plug those fans into the various headers on the board and control it via different software.
The cooler is great, the software is pretty pants.

Guess so, it's one of the selling features of the Hi series, most people are on Windows 7 so I would assume it to work.
I only have 3-pin fans and don't bother with the block thing.

Other than what's listed above, there isn't much you can do.
It could be a bug with the entire software in Windows 8.1, or it may just not like your PC.

I had this issue (win8.1x64, Asrock Z77 Extreme4).
The solution was to simply install the USB drivers for the motherboard.
After a reboot, Corsair Link was able to detect the H100i, change LED (even tho 2 are burnt out now..) and modify fan settings.

Hope this helps anyone having a similar issue on windows 8.1

Yes there is a registry edit that is a short process. I recently got an H100i and Corsair Link did not detect the fans nor the pump on Windows 8.1. After doing the registry trick and a reboot Corsair Link detected the fans and the pump.
