My secondary drive isn't showing up?

I recently reformatted. I installed W7 HP64bit onto my 120gb SSD. But my D drive shows up as only 500mb storage when it's a 1tb.

My buddy says it has something to do with SATA controller drivers or something, yet didn't provide me with any link or forum with a step-by-step process.. He did say it's an easy fix though.

Please keep in mind I am not tech savvy, especially when it comes to drives and what not, so if you're going to give me a solution to this problem, answer in detail.

Much appreciated, thanks.

Please anyone if you could help.

I just went to disk management, it says the drive is healthy and working properly, it also shows it at 940gb in disk management, but when I go into my computer, it shows it at 480mb. I went to properties/drivers on the drive and clicked update drivers and search automatically on the web and it told me it was up to date.

It's a Western Digital 1tb 7200rpm I believe, maybe 9600rpm or whatever is higher.. pretty sure 7200rpm though.

Hi,
Did you tried to extend the volume? If not, you may try it by:
1. Select the Start Menu – Run.
2. Type diskpart.exe to open the DiskPartition.
3. Type in List Volume.
4. Verify which volume number is your misbehaving volume.
5. Where # equals your volume number, type in select volume #.
6. Extend volume by typing extend
Let me know if this helped.
