Thank you

it is safer to use it, but i've build several systems now from the ground up and never have had an issue. Just be sure to ground yourself and be careful where/what you touch.

Try to wear cotton. Not wool or nylon etc. Also when installing, stay in contact with the case (the metal frame, not the plastic covering.)

It's the safest thing to do to unsure a safer transfer of parts.

Exactly, not ground yourself.

If the case is not grounded, to the same ground you are grounding yourself to you haven't done anything to prevent static damage.

As was said you want to touch the case first, to equalize the static charge, not ground yourself.

Wrist straps connect to the case, not ground.

Used them once in 30 years.
Too silly for me.

Electricity requires a path in order to travel anywhere, and static discharge is still electricity. If you have a charge on you and the psu is plugged in, you just provided a path, and the static charge will bounce across everything trying to get to that ground. The only thing a strap does is make sure you are in contact with the case at all times, eliminating the chance of polarity differences. Choice is yours, use one if you are nervous, but considering how careful you need to be when installing anything electronic like pc parts, staying in contact with the case really isn't difficult to achieve. Just do NOT plug in the power cord till you are finished.

I will need to assemble a CPU Cooler to the motherboard and transfer the parts, my fried said if I put the hands in a white wall for some secs the static will go out, don't know if it's true

Not sure what you are talking about, but sounds like Voodoo to me.

All the facts have already been stated

Lean an arm on it, elbow, finger etc. As long as you are holding a component until it is fully seated. With as little room as there is in most cases, leaning a forearm on the case shouldn't be a worry. GL with your build :)

I only need to touch the metal of the case one time?

Get contact somehow with bareskin before picking up a component for insertion into the case. Maintain contact while handling/inserting components until they are fully seated and the ground from the component is now joined to the case, and you are all good to go. If you break contact, no worries, re-apply as soon as realistically possible, so no freaking out if you find yourself not touching anything, just lean an arm/elbow over to re-establish contact
