Hello all,

A few days ago I picked up a new 840 evo for my system. I had never done an SSD upgrade before, so I was a little unsure how to go about transferring the OS and files. I transferred the files I wanted to keep from my 1 TB WD blue to the 840 evo, and then erased everything from the HDD using a program called killdisk. Next I transferred the files from the SSD back to the HDD and proceeded to wipe the SSD using killdisk as before. I did a fresh install of windows 7 on the SSD and then hooked the HDD back up. Everything seems to work fine until I try to overclock...

I have an FX 8320 on an M5A97 R2.0 motherboard, and only attempt to overclock mildly (4.2 GHz) since I have a 212 evo air cooler. After exiting the bios, I am able to boot into windows without any problems, but the computer will freeze and completely lock up on certain site and in applications. For example, a simple physics game such as this one - ttp://www.qwop.me/qwop/ - will lock me up within a few seconds of clicking play. I have HWMonitor open when this happens, and my temps are not the problem. My bios is updated to the latest version, and my drivers are up to date.

I followed this guide here to OC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MckeAmnDeTk

This OC was stable before I upgraded to an SSD, and I have no problems at all when I load my optimized defaults.

Any ideas what is going on here?
