Alright,
I was playing DayZ Mod and my computer screen loses it's source.
Shortly after that I smelt something burning and my computer turns off.

I let it cool down and try to turn it on again, but it only powers on for ~2 Seconds and then turns off.
Additionally, after every time I attempt to turn it on, I have to cycle the power button to get it to turn on again.

Do a visual check to see if you can spot anything that looks melted or strange

Right, I'll do that tomorrow afternoon again since I have school. I didn't find anything that looked burnt/melted on my first inspection, though; I may have just missed something.

Also could have been a psu power port that was not connected properly.

Terribly sorry for the delay, I got caught up in something...

I did a lookover of it, but I couldn't see inside the motherboard since it has a shell, but I did try to turn it on again without the CPU and it ran eventually, but the smoky burning smell came from it once again. This time I noticed it came from the motherboard, so I'm going to see if I can get it replaced with my warranty. Other than that, I didn't notice anything strange or melted that I could see.

Thanks,
~Alex
