Hey everyone, I know this is going to be a rather noob question, with the obvious answer of replacing the unit. However this just happened recently and I'm wondering if I wrap electrical tape around both ends if that would be sufficient until I get around to buying a new power supply? I'm getting a new motherboard tomorrow and I just want to make sure no harm could come to any components. I'm assuming it will be just fine, it is on the end of the line of the 4 pin connectors which obviously wont be used. I also thought I might be able to simply replace the ATX cables themselves but I didn't have any luck finding anything, so maybe someone could point me in the right direction? Any input would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

if you had an old power supply kicking around you could always cut one of the plugs off it,then cut the damaged one shown off and using solder and heatshrink tubing to attach the donor plug to your psu.if you arent using that plug simply tape the bare ends of the wires.you can only buy replacement cables if they can be unplugged from the psu.again,if you need to replace it you could pick a used one up at a computer shop.likely they would have a scrap psu or two.

Thank you all for the quick reply's, and thank you for the link morgilroka. Seems like a great community here. I will tape it off for now until I get around to either replacing the cable or soldering the wires back into place.
