SSD Write/Read speeds - do they matter when using SATA II ??

I have an HP 8440p with a i7 quad core processor
I am looking to go to a SSD. Looking at the specs of the current generation the read/write speeds are around 450-500. with a SATA III data rate of 6G/sec

Will the slower SATA II data rate will materially negate the benefits of the higher read write speeds over an older disk with a read/write of 450/150 mbs?

sata3 speed ssd on a sata2, yes it will. but believe me, it will still be plenty fast. you won't even notice that you are running on sata2.

i have an old intel sata2 ssd, and a sata3 crucial. both are fast, and i'm too lazy to transfer the OS to the sata3 ssd (the crucial ssd is fairly new), besides, 13sec boot time, i am not complaining.
